Graffiti is a kind of art or vandalism

Recently, a type of art called graffiti has subverted individuals’ biases toward the traditional ones. It can be seen that these have become a current trend of art. However, some urbanities consider it as vandalism. In my opinion, graffiti is a kind of art due to the following reasons.

First of all, they are adornments of the public areas. Without them, the streets and walls would be boring without the bright and vivid scenarios. Occasionally, there are symbols that allude to certain meanings. For instance, one possibility of their presences would be to criticize some parts of communities or to communicate with the government whenever the citizens confront discrepancies. In effect, graffiti is a revolution of art because masterpieces are usually confined to drawing boards, sculptures, and whatnot. Besides, graffiti can draw more audiences’ attention rather than paper drawings due to the fact that the former emerges on the public locations whereas the latter can be followed as the artists sell them.

However, graffiti is a kind of vandalism undoubtedly if it appears in inappropriate situations including luxurious districts, political areas, religious buildings, and so forth. Hence, these art works would spoil the atmosphere greatly. In addition, certain pieces on the transportation and construction sites are illegal, especially when the painter paints on the police cars which are often in the United States.

In conclusion, graffiti can be either an art or vandalism depends on the occasions. Yet, it stands out the most to be the former in the public regions.
